Expert Tree Trimming

Trees will naturally try to grow more branches and get taller to absorb more sunlight. That’s their survival mechanism. They’re alive, after all! However, in a residential area, tree branches may grow too tall for local codes and ordinances or start to encroach on existing homes or structures. When that happens, it’s time to call Trees Are Us. We can help those trees stay the right height while keeping them healthy and full.

Pruning Trees Away from Structures

Squirrels, bugs, lizards, and other wildlife think that tree branches makes a great bridge from their home in the tree to your home or office. Then those branches have grown close to your structure, wildlife won’t hesitate to invite themselves in. That’s why we keep trees trimmed back to a safe distance from your home or business.

Ornamental trees, by definition, are grown solely for the purpose of aesthetics and are usually placed in areas of the yard that are frequently seen. At Trees are Us, we’re able to combine different methods of pruning to achieve the ornamental look on nearly every tree you desire. Through the process of trimming/pruning (heading or thinning cuts) and canopy lifting, we can take a tree that isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing and turn it into something that will give the neighbors serious tree envy. Call us today and let us help you turn those not-so-gorgeous trees into beauty queens!

CROWNING- “Crowning” is the process of helping the tree become healthy and overall a neater shaped tree which consists of removing all of the dead, diseased, low-vigor and weakly attached branches.

THINNING-”Thinning” is the process of selectively pruning out certain branches to reduce the density of the tree canopy. By carefully selecting the branches to remove it allows the tree to have the following benefits: increased light penetration, reduces the weight on the limbs, opens the foliage of the tree, allows air movement through the tree and most importantly maintains the tree’s natural shape. “Thinning” a tree is a great way to increase the safety for your trees hence the air will flow between the branches rather than lashing leaves and branches all over.

RAISING- “Raising” is the process of removing all the lower branches from a tree, the canopy would now be considered “raised.” This is a more common service to provide clearance for building, vehicles, pedestrians, and allows to open up vistas for a better view.

REDUCTION- “REDUCTION” is the process of reducing the size of a tree. This may be needed to allow clearance for utility lines. However this is not considered to create the same results such as “topping” a tree. Unlike “topping” a tree, reduction allows the tree to maintain its natural form, health, and structural integrity of the tree.
